Linda Mills and her committee unfortunateely became victims of some very heavy rain which arrived at the venue shortly after midday but thankfully they had the option of using the indoor cover in this great host venue for dog shows and were settled in to the rings inside in no time. There was a change of Best in Show and Stakes judge as Claire Steele was unable to fulfil her appointment and the experienced Andrew Beare stepped in to take over.
Best in Show under Andrew was Josey Foley's Shih Tzu Leorient Fu Tai Yoh handled by daughter Anita Foley Duggan and who won through from the Puppy class under Margaret O'Callaghan of the Briocal Miniature Schnauzers.
Runner Up in the Group 9 Show was Dan and Vaughan Costigan's Long Haired Chihuahua CH Incason Lady Jane. 'Jane'was Best in Show at last years Chihuahua Club of Ireland Championship Show under Nick Farrugia. Third place was Ashling Connolly's Group winning Bichon Frise CH Ashmair The Butler Did It. 'Mikey' who was Best in Show under Liz Wogan at the Irish Toy Dog Society's final Toy Group Show under the old system in May was sent through from the breed by Eilish Neally.
Fourth place in the group was Pauline Keegan's Pekingese Pankoo Emotional Moments who has been a consistent winner this year. The show was sponsored by Royal Canin.
