Queens Island Canine Club hosted the Northern Ireland Puppy of the Year and Showdog of the Year at the Trinity Community Inititives in Lisburn were Eleanor Bothwell, Norcis Beagles and renowned hound specialist judged.
The events were held on a knockout system with 2 dogs of the 3 or 4 in each group being selected to go forward to the next round.
The Puppy of the Year event was held first and from the final 4, Eleanor selected Kerry Brennan's Cocker Spaniel ASQUANNE GODGIVEN TO KERRIJOY as her winner. Albert Ritchie's Whippet DEMERLEY VANILLA SKY OVER GWENDARIFF took the runner up spot.
The finals 4 for the Showdog of the Year event were Clare Robinson's Bearded Collie IR CH KILTONDALE MAGNETISM, Willie and Amanda Dobbin's top winning Newfoundland CH & IR CH FAIRWEATHERS KNOCKOUT WITH BROOKLYNBEAR, Eamon Keenan's Lhasa Apso IR CH KENEVA THE HEADLINER FOR KEOMA and Ian and Ann Higham's Border Terrier CH COMBERDOWN CIARA.
From these Eleanor selected 'Maisie', the Bearded Collie for the top honours with the Newfoundland 'Storm' taking the runner up spot.
