Here we showcase the Top Dogs and Top Breeders in Ireland thorugh our competions sponsored by Viyo Elite.
The resuults tables are dynamic, being updated as the results of each show are added to the site, usually with 24-48 hours of the show ending.
The Top Dog Competition sponsored by Viyo Elite is based on IKC All Breed Championship show group placings thoughout the year (1st Jan - 31st Dec) and can be viewed for all breeds or individual groups. The Top Breeder Competition sponsored by Viyo Elite is again based on IKC All Breed Championship show group and stakes class placings thoughout the calendar year. |  |
Top Dog Competition Points Allocation
From 2007 our points system was revised to accomodate the change to FCI groups in June 2007.
Points will be awarded for Group wins based on the number of scheduled breeds with entries at the show (as per the catalogue). Any Variety will counts a 1 breed.
Group points are awarded as follows:

The point system now takes into account Best in Show to 4th Best in Show with additional points awarded as follows:

Example. For a Group with 21 breeds scheduled.
If all breeds scheduled are respresented the Group winner will receive 21 points.
If 2 scheduled breeds have received no entries the Group winner will receive 19 points (21 - 2)

Top Breeder Competion Points Allocation
This competition is open to all breeders of dogs shown in Ireland at All Breed Championship Shows during the calender year and is designed to celebrate and reward those who achieve the standard of excellence in this important area of the sport in Ireland.
Points towards achieving the title of TOP BREEDER will be accumulated as follows:
Any exhibit placed in the following classes/groupings will receive the relevant number of points as shown below:
An Initial Group Placing per each individual exhibit of the same breed and from the same breeder: 10 Points.
Subsequent Group Placings with the same exhibit : 1 Point.
An Initial Puppy Stakes placing at All Breed National Shows per each individual exhibit of the same breed and from the same breeder : 8 Points.
An Initial Puppy Group Placing at International Shows per each individual exhibit of the same breed and from the same breeder : 2 Points.
An Initial Veteran Stakes Placing per each individual exhibit of the same breed and from the same breeder : 6 Points.
<p>An Initial Champion Stakes Placing per each individual exhibit of the same breed and from the same breeder : 10 Points. </p>
The competition will be run on a Group basis in conjunction with the group system in use by the Irish Kennel Club on the date of the events taking place and also on an overall basis to ultimately find the TOP BREEDER of the Year.
The TOP BREEDER current standings at time of going to press will be published in each issue of Show Dogs Ireland Magazine. |
